AI Tutor 2.0 Pilot

Enhancing learning outcomes for Australian students

Overview

This pilot is led by the High Resolves Group https://www.highresolves.org/about, an Australian non-profit organisation established in 2005. High Resolves Group is the parent organisation of The Learning Network.  With support from the Paul Ramsay Foundation https://www.paulramsayfoundation.org.au, this pilot explores how using AI can enhance learning outcomes for all students across Australia by providing them with access to AI tutors.

 

Purpose: To discover how using AI can enhance learning outcomes for all students across Australia by providing them with access to AI tutors.

1. All Students are Required to Have Guardian Consent

Term 3: All Consent Forms received by 14 October

Guardians must give consent for their child to participate in the pilot the week before students complete the pre-survey. To do so, guardians should first read the Trial Participant Information sheet and then complete the Guardian Consent form. Once consent is submitted, the next steps of trial participation will be activated, including setting up their child's access to the AI Tutor platform.

2. Guardian and Student Ai Tutor Onboarding Sessions

 

Term 3: Completed by 18 October

 

We're providing guardians and their child the option of joining a live video onboarding session via Zoom​. Additional how-to guides are available for any guardians unable to make the sessions or for those who'd like to get started earlier

 

Tuesday 15 October, 5:00pm (AEST) 

3. Students Pre-Survey

 

Term 3: Submitted by 18 October

 

Students and their guardian will complete the pre-survey (approx. 5-10 minutes). 

Your child's participant code will be emailed and sent as an SMS to the guardians.

4. Using the Ai Tutor

 

Terms 4: 21 October - 25 November

 

Use the AI Tutor for approximately 1 hour per week minimum

5. Students Post-Survey

 

Term 4: Submitted by 29 November

 

Students and guardians will complete the post-survey (approx. 5-10 minutes). 

Survey links will be provided in the week they are to be submitted. 

  • The Ai tutor is fully compliant with the Australian Framework for Generative Artificial Intelligence in Schools

  • The AI tutor has built-in guardrails to ensure that privacy, security, and student safety are protected, while supporting students to remain on-task

  • The AI tutor is trained to guide students towards greater understanding of their academic subjects

  • ​The AI tutor is built to foster engagement and motivation.
