1. Consent from Guardians

Term 3: All Consent Forms received by 16 August

The consent forms from guardians to include their child in the pilot must be received the week before the students are asked to complete the pre-survey. Consent forms can be emailed home to the guardians or printed and sent home to parents who require a hardcopy version. All guardians that want their child to participate in the pilot must return a consent by email or return the signed hardcopy form to their classroom teacher. The teacher is asked to keep a record of the students that have received consent to participate in the pilot and ensure no students without consent participate in the pilot. 

2. Teacher Onboarding

 

Term 3: Completed by 22 August

 

Participating teachers attend an AI Tutor onboarding session and get an AI Tutor account (approx. 30 minutes). Use the link to book a time, alternatively please contact the team at aitutor@learningnetwork.com.au.

3. Students and Teacher Pre-Survey

 

Term 3: Submitted by 23 August

Students and teachers complete the pre-survey (approx. 10-20 minutes). 

Survey links will be provided in the week they are to be submitted. 

4. Using the AI Tutor
 

Terms 3 & 4: 26 August - 25 November 

 

Students are onboarded to the AI Tutor (approx. 20 minutes)

Use the AI Tutor once per class through until the end of pilot (approx. 30 minutes per week)

5. Students and Teacher Post-Survey

 

Term 4: Submitted by 29 November

 

Students and teachers will complete the post-survey (approx. 20 minutes). 

Survey links will be provided in the week they are to be submitted. 

Overview

This pilot is led by the High Resolves Group https://www.highresolves.org/about, an Australian non-profit organisation established in 2005. High Resolves Group is the parent organisation of The Learning Network.  With support from the Paul Ramsay Foundation https://www.paulramsayfoundation.org.au, this pilot explores how using AI can enhance learning outcomes for all students across Australia by providing them with access to AI tutors.

 

Purpose: To discover how using AI can enhance learning outcomes for all students across Australia by providing them with access to AI tutors.

  • The AI tutor is fully compliant with the Australian Framework for Generative Artificial Intelligence in Schools

  • The AI tutor has built-in guardrails to ensure that privacy, security, and student safety are protected, while supporting students to remain on-task

  • The AI tutor is trained to guide students towards greater understanding of their academic subjects

  • ​The AI tutor is built to foster engagement and motivation.
